Fishing License in Bariloche

Below is what it costs and which one usually makes sense. If you would rather not deal with it, tell us and we take care of it for you.

What it costs

These are the non-resident rates, the ones that apply if you are visiting Argentina from abroad. All figures are in Argentine pesos (ARS), not dollars.

From the 2025/2026 Patagonian fishing regulations. New rates are published each season, usually in October, so check the official site before you buy. We do not quote an equivalent in dollars here because the exchange rate moves too fast for a printed figure to stay honest.

Which one is worth it

The daily permit only pays off if you are fishing one or two days. From the third day on, the 10-day permit already costs less than three daily ones. The full season starts paying off at around six days on the water.

Most of our guests fish between two and four days, so the 10-day permit is the usual choice. If you are here for a single afternoon, take the daily one.

One permit covers everywhere we fish

This is the question we get most often, and the answer is a relief: a single permit is valid across Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut and the National Parks. You do not need a separate one for the Limay, another for the Manso and another for the lakes. Whatever we decide to fish that morning, you are covered.

One exception worth knowing: trolling needs an extra permit on top of the ordinary one. If a day of boat fishing on Lake Nahuel Huapi is part of your plan, tell us and we will sort it out together.

Where to buy it

Online, on the official site of the fishing authority, which has an English version:

You buy it, it arrives by email, and you carry it on your phone. There is no need to print it, and nothing to do in person once you are here. A ranger may ask to see it along with your passport, so keep both at hand.

Or let us do it

If you would rather arrive with everything sorted, we can handle the permit for you. Mention it when you write to book your days and we take it from there. You only pay what the permit costs; we do not charge for the errand.

When can you actually fish?

The permit lets you fish, but each river and lake has its own opening and closing dates, and only one lake near Bariloche stays open all year. Before you pick your dates, see the fishing season in Bariloche.
